As a queer woman who's old enough to have watched friends come out as gay (then fall in het-love and feel embarrassed about it), watched executive colleagues very publicly transition (then de-transition due to health/medical reasons), watched conservative folks start cishet marriages and families (only to realize they're actually queer)... I've come to understand that our labels and identities are not meant to be cages.

I celebrate every coming out and every transition, and I even MORE celebrate those who have the bravery to say "oh hey, I'm a human who is growing and changing. I'm not who I was before. Let me introduce you to who I am now."

It's acknowledging the fluidity of identity that grants us true liberation to be our most whole, nuanced, complex selves. 🩷
