Ha, that's funny: my mother is also obsessed with death. Every holiday we get to hear her latest plans for death with dignity. Her latest is that she bought a plot in an eco burial wildlife preserve, and she plans to go out and dig her own grave and just lay down in it and die sometime.

The upside? I'm very emotionally aware of my mother's mortality. The downside? We talk about death while hunting for easter eggs, cutting the Thanksgiving turkey, and opening Christmas gifts.
