Heya! As the person running the Boost Nomination Pilot, I completely agree with you. I would LOVE to get this program opened up more broadly! That said, I can speak pretty directly about why things are have to go slowly.

Currently, the program is built on third-party tools. Every new participant has to go through a fiddly contract and onboarding process. All submissions are submitted manually. All reporting is done manually. All payments are issued manually, one by one. Every month I bring in 5-10 new folks, and every month the systems I'm working with start groaning a little louder.

So, we have to go slow because the in-product functions haven't been built yet.

...Why not just build the tools? Well, because first we've got to finish the work on the Medium Partner Program. And then one of the engineers is on parental leave.

Medium is a company of only about 80 people, and there are a lot of projects going on concurrently. I'm DYING to get the Boost Nomination Pilot built into Medium.com so that everything doesn't have to be done manually, so that I can open the floodgates... but I have to wait my turn for design and engineering resources.

All this is to say: yep, I totally agree with you, but I'm like Scotty shouting up from the engine room: I'M GIVIN' IT ALL SHE'S GOT, CAPTAIN!

Thanks for your patience. We'll get there!
