I appreciate this perspective. I'm one of those folks who can have a drink or two a month if it seems fun, and then easily pass the other times I'm offered a drink. Despite the fact that I have alcoholism in my family, I just have no "zing" around booze. It makes me sleepy, so I don't drink it often.
Now, sugar or scrolling on my phone? THOSE are addictions that I struggle with. No sweets in the house or I eat them all, and my phone is permanently attached to my hand.
We all struggle with our addictive/disassociative tendencies.....
