I just want to chime in here that it's NOT random -- it's showing you stories from writers and publications that you follow. That second part is key: if you follow a lot of publications (or publications that publish a TON of stories) you might feel like your Follow tab isn't showing you the authors you're following. But it definitely is, and the stories definitely are not random!
