I'm hearing your concerns about how certain nominators choose to manage their publications. Part of what's great about the BNP is that all these publications are independently operated. These are not publications run by Medium staff -- these are all Medium users.

That's a big priority for us, here. We want to make sure that Medium users understand that they're a part of our editorial process.

That said, that means that each editor will manage their publication differently. We're clear that they must abide by the Medium rules (being in the BNP won't save you from having your account deactivated if you run amok with our Trust & Safety team), but other than that, participants are allowed to manage their publications and editorial flows as they see fit. If you have concerns with how a nominator manages their publication, that's great feedback for them!
