Maliha, you know what's really funny? Literally not a single one of my stories on Medium meet Medium's Distribution Standards (https://help.medium.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006362473).

It's not an issue of quality, it's an issue of a specific kind of story... none of my writing is targeting general readers. I don't take the time to introduce myself or my background in every story; I find it tedious so I just dive right in! This means that none of my stories are a good fit for boosting, despite whether they're well-written or not. (Being a Medium employee makes me ineligible for Boost, of course, but as someone who looks at those distribution standards a LOT, I'm always amused by how even my best writing isn't a good fit for Boosting!)

This is all to say, Boost isn't a straight-forward measure of quality. It's a measure of a certain kind of quality, as determined by these guidelines: https://help.medium.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006362473
