Years ago I knew a guy who was super liberal and super into guns. It was a weird combo, but he was adamant in his belief that everyone should learn how to shoot a gun, especially women, femmes, and queer folks. He used to tell me about a dream he had of starting a self defense school where he could give free pistolry lessons to women and queer folks. It sorta blew my mind. Still not sure how I feel about it, but it was interesting to hear his perspectives.
