Yep! Each month, I look at the reports to see which topics are being Boosted the least, and then go check the waitlist to see if there are any high-quality publications in that topic area. If there aren't any relevant publications, sometimes I'll reach out to a subject matter expert to see if they're interested in nominating stories in their area of expertise.

This program is mostly focused on publication editors, because those are the folks we see working hard with writers to help them improve their work... but it’s been an interesting experiment to work with a few non-publication outliers, too. Either way, the goal is the same: to help us sniff out the hidden gem stories, the new writers, the long-ignored niches, and the really good stuff that algorithms and popularity contests can’t find.
