Yes. We've experimenting with a nomination structure that allows unlimited nominations for nominators who have a high enough nomination approval rate.

Also, nominations from this program only account for 5% of the stories that are Boosted. 95% of Boosts happen directly from our internal curation team, reviewing stories published across Medium. More about how that works over here: https://help.medium.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018677974

As for your suggestion about the minimum standard, part of our goal with the Boost Nomination Pilot is to find the hidden gems, the brand new writers, and the undiscovered stories. It's easy for our recommendation engines and distribution algorithms to reward popular stories (and as I mention in this post, every month, there are five times more stories that reach large audiences that have NOT been Boosted). Part of what this program is trying to determine is whether we can tap into the humans using Medium to help us find the stories that our algorithms aren't finding.

Again, this program is an experiment, and we're learning a TON. Learning takes time, because we really want to get this right. Conversations with passionate Medium users are part of how we're doing that work -- so thank you so much for being a part of the process!
