You're not missing anything. We don't notify writers when their stories are nominated, nor do we notify them if that nomination was declined. The nominator will receive any notifications about their nominations -- whether they choose to communicate that with the writers is up to them.

How nominators communicate with their publication's writers is totally up to them. Some nominators choose not to let writers know when they've been nominated, because they don't want writers to feel hurt or discouraged if the story isn't Boosted.

We're all just tender humans out here, and I appreciate how many nominators look out for the feelings of the writers in their communities.
